- The government is in the final stages of drafting the “University Umbrella Act” to restructure the five-decade-old set up of the country’s universities. One of the salient features of the Act is a proposed changed in university leadership. Currently, the prime minister acts as the chancellor of all six universities in Nepal; the Act proposes academics as head chancellors of all universities. With the number of universities growing every year, the government has been forced to make the changes as the old set up is no longer feasible in the new scheme of things. Read more…

Victims unaware of domestic violence bill

Dispute may lead to grant freeze
