Apart from some districts in the far western and mid-western regions, most parts of the country didn’t get a single drop of rain this winter. The quantum of rainfall observed in these districts including Darchula, Baitadi and Jumla, among others, was also significantly below the normal 35 millimetres. Meanwhile, for the first time since the 1980s, the mercury did not fall below zero in the Kathmandu Valley this winter. Meteorologists have stated that this year’s winter was among the driest in more than a decade after the winter of 2006. Read more…

Safa tempos getting displaced
